The biggest advantage of lifting check valve is its simple structure. Because the only moving part is the conical disc, it is durable, almost maintenance free, and almost no wear metal plate. The limitation of lift check valve is that it must be installed in horizontal pipeline. Metal to metal seal centered lift check valves allow a small amount of leakage. This is only applicable when the fluid return sealing requirements are not very strict. It is usually used only in water supply systems and is usually used to prevent steam traps. Condensate return is also used at the outlet of the centrifugal pump in the condensate piping.
The valve disc of lift check valve operates automatically. Usually, the conical disc is pressed against a metal plate between the inlet and outlet of the valve. You can add springs to the disc and preload them. As the fluid flows forward, the effect of fluid pressure releases the conical disc from the wider seat and opens the valve. When the fluid flows in the opposite direction, due to its own weight, spring force (if there is spring preload) and fluid return pressure, the disc returns to the seat and the valve closes.
